Catalyst Maria featured on WGN News!

Catalyst Maria scholars participating in the Mission Propelle yoga program were featured on WGN News!  CMES scholars, along with CMHS Principal Ms. Sandoval and Catalyst teacher/yoga instructor Mrs. Groenewold, were featured in a story highlighting the benefits of yoga in the school environment. Mission Propelle is an empowerment program for female scholars in grades K-5, and the yoga classes also emphasize literacy enrichment, self-acceptance and friendship.  Check out the video through the linked image below- great work Mrs. G. and the Mission Propelle team!

Catalyst Maria HS scholar Christopher A. continues incredible research!!

Catalyst Maria High School scholar Christopher A. Catalyst Maria and MKC partner with The Trotter Project

Top Chef Junior finalist Rahanna Bisseret Martinez and Anne Trotter (pictured below), sister of the late, world-famous chef Charlie Trotter visited Catalyst Maria’s on-campus partner Maria Kaupas Center (MKC) this morning! Twenty-five scholars in grades 8-11 were selected to participate in the 2018 Culinary Summer Camp, sponsored by The Trotter Project. The camp will be held at the MKC July 9-13, 2018, during which participating scholars will learn the basics of culinary arts and hospitality from a professional chef! Many thanks to The Trotter Project for their support of the MKC, Catalyst, and the Chicago Lawn community!
