Ravinia Hosts Catalyst-Circle Rock Scholars

El Systema is built upon a collaborative approach to learning and is designed to create a community of musicians each one helping the others  master their instrument and learn the performance selections.  Building community is one of the cornerstones of creating a just society and so this program fits perfectly with Catalyst's mission and desire to help its scholars become change angents.

The fieldtrip to Ravinia was in invitation to a "petting zoo".  However, instead of traditional barnyard animals, the children who have signed up for the ochestral program were allowed to touch and work with real symphonic quality instruments - the kind they will be performing on within nine months.  Stay tuned for an invitation to Catalyst-Circle Rock's first symphony concert.  You won't want to miss it!
