The Chicago Board of Education awarded Catalyst Circle Rock a full five-year renewal of its charter last week! Catalyst is honored and grateful to the school's scholars, staff, families and supporters that contributed to this achievement!
The school will celebrate at the launch of the Austin Dream Project event on June 4, 2015!
The celebration will be held at Catalyst Circle Rock's campus at 5608 W. Washington Blvd. from 5:00-6:30 PM and will feature a performance by the Ravinia sponsored Circle Rockets Scholar Orchestra, light refreshments, and a reception.
This event will introduce stakeholders to an ambitious project aimed at creating a unique auditorium space in the Austin community (pictured below).

Catalyst Circle Rock held an incredible PLTW Science Fair last Friday, led by CCRockstars Mrs. Carlos, Ms. McDowell, Mrs. Knight and Mrs. O’Neill! Fifth grade scholars assembled very thorough and informative presentations that sparked a lot of interest and excitement with the scholars who came to visit! Catalyst Circle Rock 8th Grade scholar David C. coded a video game on Hopscotch! Working with Mrs. Soroko, this scholar then presented his work to some younger scholars at CCR who played the game! Great work David and Mrs. Soroko!
Catalyst Circle Rock was very forunate to be visited by the renowned Q Brothers today! The Q Brothers are two brothers who travel the country performing professionally as well as visiting local schools to speak with students on music and fine arts. The Q Brothers and Catalyst partner Chicago Children's Choir have been working together to put on a show next year and creating a documentary on their association with CCC and their outreach programs! The Circle Rockets had a special visit from Ms. Miriam Fried, Program Director of Ravinia's Music Institute on Thursday. Ms. Fried and her students performed for the Circle Rockets in an awesome performance- the groups are pictured below. Thank you Ravinia for arranging this special vist!
