The Catalyst team has used information from Chicago Public Schools, the Illinois State Board of Education, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Illinois Department of Public Health to prepare multiple scenrios for the 2020-2021 school year over the last several months. Our highest priority is the safety of our scholars, our Catalyst families, our staff members and their families.
We are working on potential scenarios for the 2020-2021 school year that include a hybrid (in-person and remote) and solely remote learning plans to start the year. As the Catalyst team relentlessly prepares for the 2020-2021 school year with various instructional models, the first day for Catalyst Circle Rock and Catalyst Maria students will be September 8, 2020. This additional week will allow teachers, school leaders and staff to continue to prepare for various models of instruction. The Catalyst Board of Directors' Finance Committee will hold a meeting to review the proposed FY21 budget on July 7, 2020 at 12:00 pm.
