“I am honored to nominate an amazing scholar in my class. Since day 1, Tre’Von has demonstrated himself as a role model for his peers. He consistently demonstrates all the characteristics of a Catalyst student and without fail, I can count on him to be a trustworthy, caring peer. Even on the rare occasions when he has missed a homework assignment, he doesn’t try to explain why the assignment isn’t done or not demonstrate his trustworthiness. He immediately takes responsibility for his actions and is able to accept redirection in a graceful manner. When interacting with peers, he is polite, helpful, and caring – qualities that will take him far in life as his character goes hand in hand with his academic excellence. He is consistently on the honor roll and this year, was 1 of 2 students in my class that was on the A honor roll. Every day he is in school, he represents his mother, grandfather, and family with the utmost level of excellence. He carries and demonstrates his family name with pride and I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, his family is blessed beyond belief to have him.

Scholar Change Agents of the Month: October 2012
Tamyjah
Ms. Barron’s 2nd Grade, Benedictine University
Born on January 20th
Math is her favorite subject
“Tamyjah embodies the true sense of being a Catalyst scholar in every manner. If you ever want to see a hardworking, dedicated and disciplined scholar look at Tamyjah. Not only does she focus on her studies and actively participates in all class activities but she takes the time from her day to help a classmate better understand a concept or feel better about themselves. Her behavior and level of self-discipline is to be commended as she has never received a demerit in six weeks of school. On a daily basis, Tamyjah demonstrates what true leadership sounds like, looks like, and is. She is living proof that age is only a number and that being a leader can happen at any age, even at 7 years old. I am extremely proud of her and proud that she is one of my scholars.”
-Ms. Barron, 2nd Grade Instructor
Xavier

“Xavier is an excellent recipient for this award. On the first science test of the year, Xavier scored the HIGHEST out of the entire 6th grade. Not only does he perform extremely well in a difficult content area, he always shows up prepared and engaged in every class. I can always count on Xavier to volunteer a correct answer or exemplify appropriate classroom behavior. Congratulations Xavier!”
