Carolyn is a sixth grader who models the character trait of respect. She has a wonderful sense of humor and in her quiet way is able to demonstrate that while life is serious, there is also something very joyful about it as well. Carolyn is a good student. She has an ability to perform well in math. She is not intimidated, like many of us have been, by mathematical and analytical thought. But math is not her only academic pleasure — she really enjoys learning of any sort.

Sixth grader Alondrea models the character traits that Catalyst encourages all students to integrate in their lives. She demonstrates responsibility in the way she consistently goes about her study, gets her work in on time, and is a leader in her class. Alondrea goes beyond the call of duty in the way she performs in school. She loves language arts and intends to pursue a career in medicine.

Alexis is a pleasure to have in class. In her sixth-grade classroom, she demonstrates the character traits of caring and citizenship. She has a beautiful smile that reflects the spirit she brings with her to school each day. While Alexis is shy, she has been engaging and relates well with her classmates and teachers. Everyone in the class loves her. Alexis adores math and reading, which are her best academic subjects. She wants to be in the entertainment industry as a singer and a dancer when she grows up.

Throughout this school year, Anthony has been an asset to his classroom community and peers by demonstrating many if not every one of our Character Counts pillars. Anthony is an ideal student who continuously strives to increase his academic standing.  He has maintained a B average throughout this school year. Anthony's strong determination to succeed has paved the way for his future by providing him the opportunity to attend Urban Prep Academy as a high school freshmen for the 2010-2011 school year.  Anthony has not only been a good citizen of his eighth grade classroom but has been a model student for the entire student body.  We wish Anthony well as he begins the transition to the next phase of his education at Urban Prep Academy.

Reagan is a person who clearly models a sense of perseverance about life.  She works hard and never gives up even when the task is difficult.  Her ability to persevere is only one of her leadership qualities.  She is also the captain of her team for the American Scores-Poetry and Writing challenge.  She understands teamwork and always reminds her teammates how important a sense of community in their effort is.Reagan’s character is like a colorful rainbow because she models all six of Catalyst’s pillars of character very well.  This is one of the wonderful things that makes Reagan unique.
