Four Catalyst Maria High School Seniors-Christopher A., DuJuan H., Felipe L., and Joanna M. (pictured below)- achieved the Illinois State Scholar Award! The State Scholar Program identifies graduating high school seniors who possess superior academic potential. Students from nearly every high school in Illinois compete in the program, and State Scholars can be found on the campuses of nearly 200 public and private institutions of higher education in Illinois. The combination of exemplary college entrance examination scores and record high school achievement indicate an especially high potential for success in college. To be honored as a State Scholar in Illinois is an outstanding accomplishment that will be a highlight of the recipient’s academic record- we are so proud of Christopher, DuJuan, Felipe, and Joanna!
Catalyst is incredibly thankful for the commitment that all members of the Catalyst community dedicate to our mission of teaching minds and touching hearts! In observance of Thanksgiving, Catalyst Schools will be closed to scholars and staff Wednesday, November 21 through Friday November 23, 2018.
We hope that you are able to rest, relax and rejuvenate with family and friends over the Thanksgiving break!
The Catalyst Board of Directors' will have their second scheduled meeting of the 2018-2019 school year on Monday November 19, 2018. This meeting will be held at Catalyst Circle Rock Charter School, located at 5608 W. Washington Blvd. Chicago, IL 60644 and will be from 3:00-5:30 PM.

Catalyst Maria scholars participating in the Mission Propelle yoga program were featured on WGN News! CMES scholars, along with CMHS Principal Ms. Sandoval and Catalyst teacher/yoga instructor Mrs. Groenewold, were featured in a story highlighting the benefits of yoga in the school environment. Mission Propelle is an empowerment program for female scholars in grades K-5, and the yoga classes also emphasize literacy enrichment, self-acceptance and friendship.
